For BRASS #2, Maxime Denuc created a new sound work for Kris Verdonck’s performative installation BRASS. BRASS is a ghost orchestra. Three sousaphones play by themselves and appear to be hoovering in space. These automated instruments are part of Verdonck’s larger research into performance after human presence. Denuc is an electronic music composer, who over the past years worked with computer-controlled church organs as powerful synthesizers. ForBRASS #2 he made a new sound piece, based on the principles of circular music. Maxime Denuc is artist in residence with A Two Dogs Company / Kris Verdonck.
